The man who robbed the Associated Bank in Mercer was arrested shortly after the robbery. Monday, Iron County Emergency Dispatch received a call from the bank saying they’d just been robbed. A description of the getaway vehicle and the direction it traveled was sent out to all points; a deputy in Mercer saw the vehicle and began a low key pursuit that traveled into Vilas County. Several local agencies responded and attempted a vehicle stop, but the suspect fled at high speed. When trying to turn onto Chippewa Forest Road, he lost control and rolled the car. The cash stolen was recovered and the suspect taken to Aspirus Howard Young, where he was treated and released to officers, who then booked him into the Iron County jail on robbery charges.
