Although students in the Drummond Area School District continue to exceed scholastic expectations, the district school board and administration are asking the community for input on how to address significant challenges within the district. TheAshlandDailyPress reports those include a budget shortfall, without additional funding, current programs and services will suffer. Secondly, there are facility needs that the annual budget simply can’t cover. An 8 page survey is being distributed to every resident of the school district, which will provide a clearer picture of what the district faces and what the community thinks are the most important priorities. There will also be a community survey information meeting Thursday evening from 4 to 8 during parent-teacher conferences. Residents are asked fill out the survey and mail it in or go online and fill it out there. More information is available at dasdk12.net.
