At their meeting on Monday evening, the Ironwood City Commission got a report that Phase1 of the city’s water pumping station project is underway, with site work beginning in Ironwood Township. TheDailyGlobe reports that concrete foundations will start being poured in the next couple of weeks. Phase 1 of the project comes with an $11 million price tag. The commission also approved a $54,000 expenditure to repair the access road to the pumping station site, to allow for movement of the heavy equipment required for the project.
