This year’s Gogebic County Fair attendees will be identifiable by hand stamps if they choose not to ride the carnival rides or by wristbands if they do.The Friends of the Gogebic County Fair Board decided to adopt the dual labeling method at a meeting on March 11 because they think it will make it simpler for fair authorities to determine which attendees have paid the additional ride fee.Everyone who attended in previous years donned bracelets.In order to approve the new system, hand stamps and non-transferrable ink-that is, ink that doesn’t smudge-must be purchased.The situation of presale tickets was also considered by the board. Linda Nelson, a Friends member and fair coordinator, stated, “The initial expenditure is extremely expensive, but it is a one-time set-up expense.”
