The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is offering free tree seedlings to all Wisconsin fourth-grade students for its annual Arbor Day program. As reported in TheLakelandTimes, Wisconsin has celebrated Arbor Day, promoting tree planting and care, on the last Friday of April since 1883. Principals, teachers, and homeschoolers must apply by March 16, 2026. Since 1984, the DNR has provided roughly 50,000 free seedlings from state nurseries to celebrate and educate students on the importance of trees.
