More Changes For the Hurley Chamber of Commerce

The Hurley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors fired executive director Melissa Teeple on January 21st, citing poor communication and financial access issues, despite her success in recruitment and social media since April 2025. According to the DailyGlobe, the firing accompanied major board instability: President Rudy Oszakiewski, Bill Nantell, and Steve Fiene resigned amid internal conflicts, adding to three existing vacancies. Teeple defended her performance, expressing frustration with unclear guidance, excessive demands for Facebook promotion and being required to staff the front desk 40-hours a week as well as her other duties, and poor member responsiveness. She also suggested a need for a formal grievance process.
