Bessemer has secured a $227,800 state grant for a new Bessemer Iron Belle Trailhead. TheDailyGlobe reports the trailhead will offer a pavilion, restrooms, picnic tables, parking, a bike repair station, ADA accessibility, landscaping, and a flexible “learn-to-bike” area/ice rink. Construction starts this year, with major work in 2027. Officials anticipate year-round recreational and educational benefits, boosting the local economy by bringing trail users downtown, as it will be the only covered rest area with water/restrooms between Ironwood and Ramsay.
