This land would become a 2.7-mile walking and biking trail connecting Hurley and Montreal, linking to the Iron Belle Trail. The property would support hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and nature appreciation. One-half mile would remain a motorized trail. The DNR proposes prohibiting hunting due to proximity to residences, schools, and limited hunting opportunities. The public is asked to submit comments by November 12, 2025. Go to dnr.wisconsin.gov and search “stewardship”.
