GCC Trustees Get Good News About Program

Gogebic Community College’s Early Childhood Education program is thriving, with high enrollment and a stackable credential system aligning with Michigan’s early learning standards. As reported in TheDailyGlove, the GCC Board of Trustees were given the good report at their meeting on Tuesday evening. The program aims for a 70% completion rate by 2027 and an 80% graduation rate by 2028, up from 44% (2020-2023) with 31% transferring. The college will not offer a winter intersession this year. GCC President Chris Patritto announced the college’s eligibility for the Aspen Prize for Community Colleges due to strong completion and transfer rates.
