A Bayfield man found incompetent to stand trial on drug charges has now been determined competent. According to TheDailyPress, Robert Charette Jr., 55, is facing charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and an illegally obtained prescription, maintaining a drug trafficking place and disorderly conduct/domestic abuse among others. If convicted, due to a repeat offender modification, he could be sentenced to 80 years in prison. In April, Charette was deemed unfit to stand trial. A reevaluation mid June found him to be competent. A court appearance is scheduled for the 21st.
