U.P. Agency Will Share in Childcare Improvement Grants

A local agency is slated to share in more than $2.6 million dollars of funding through the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement and Potential or MiLEAP. 14 Family child Care Network hubs will share in that funding, including Community Coordinated Child Care Association of the Upper Peninsula, which will receive $85,000 to help improve program quality, expand access to services and promote long-term business stability. Beverly Walker-Griffea, director of MiLEAP said “MiLEAP is committed to building a child care system that works for every family, and that begins with supporting the providers at the heart of our communities.”
