Tourism in Vilas County in 2024 continued to be on the rise according to the State Department of Tourism. Visitors spent just under $303 million in Vilas County, which is $1.8 million more than 2023. Tourism also counted as Vilas County’s largest industry, supporting over 2100 jobs and bringing in almost $30 million in state and local taxes. Director of the Vilas County Tourism & Publicity Collette Sorgel said although the increase was small, it was still an increase and a success for the city. With less snow than usual this past winter, business was challenging, but the city is grateful for everyone who visited in 2024.
