Practical Nursing Program May Be Coming Back to Ironwood

Bay College is working with Michigan regulatory agencies to resume its Practical Nursing program on Ironwood and Escanaba campuses. The school has submitted a comprehensive program plan to the Bureau of Professional Licensing with the state Department of of Licensing and Regulatory Affiars. Regulators are expected to tour the campuses in September and after that, hopefully a vote will follow and reinstate the nursing program in November with the Michigan Board of Nursing. In the past ten years more than 700 students have graduated from the college’s practice nursing program and continue to work in Michigan.
