Fundraising for Ironwood Landmark Begins

A crowd-funding campaign has been launched to help fund the expansion of the Carnegie Library in Ironwood. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the Friends of the Ironwood Carnegie Library made the announcement on Thursday. If the campaign reaches its crowdfunding goal of $50,000 by June 29th, a matching grant will be made available with funds from the Economic Development’s Public Spaces, Community Places program. The campaign will merge the old with the new, and will create new spaces that will continue to inspire those who come into the building. Andrew Carnegie built 2509 libraries and Ironwood’s is the oldest, being built in 1901. For more information and to move the building closer to its expansion goal…go to patronicity.com/ironwood.
