New Business In Downtown Ironwood Hopes to Become Gathering Spot

This past Saturday in downtown Ironwood, a new business celebrated its grand opening. The DailyGlobe reports the Downtown Bodega is the passion project of Jason Hurst, who owned a store in Minnesota and decided to open the Bodega to be closer to his mother, to give his two school aged sons a good foundation and to give the downtown area a place to go for groceries, a place for people to gather, find entertainment and connection. The store also has an arcade, which Hurst calls a “labor of love”, filling it with more than ten gaming cabinets and machines. Hurst says the community, including the Ironwood Chamber of Commerce has been welcoming and supportive. He hopes to make the Bodega one of the cultural hubs of Ironwood. The Downtown Bodega is open 7 days a week from 10 t0 10 on West Aurora Street.
