Nearly $1 million in surface water grants have been awarded by the Wisconsin Department Natural Resources. Lake groups, non-profits and other county and municipal government entities in Vilas and Oneida counties have been named. According to the VilasCountyNewsReview, just over $608K was awarded to applicants in Vilas County. Vilas County Land and Water is one of the organizations to receive funding, to the tune of almost $15K. Land and Water will use the funds for invasive species management and prevention in area waterways.
