Trial of Bayfield Man Postponed

An Ashland County Circuit Court judge has determined that a Bayfield man is not competent to stand trial on drug charges. TheDailyPress reports Robert Charette Jr., 55, faces 12 charges including drug possession with intent to deliver, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining a drug trafficking location as well as disorderly conduct and domestic abuse. Judge Kelly McKnight committed Charette with periodic evaluations. His case has been suspended with a review scheduled in March and the court will again determine Charette’s competency.
