The Tamarack Health Ashland Medical Center has received a new designation. The local facility has been named a level IV trauma center by the Wisconsin Department of Health The Level IV designation shows that the facility can provide advanced life support and stabilization, evaluation, diagnostic testing and services, and the ability to transfer to a higher level of emergency care when needed, which often means improved outcomes of treatment. The center joins Hayward Medical Center in that level IV designation.
