The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has announced that the Fortune Lake boating access site in Bewabic State Park along the Iron County Heritage Trail system will be next week, from Monday through Friday, the 16th through the 20th, for work that includes asphalt sealcoating and restriping. The launch is the only public boat access on the Fortune Lake chain of lakes. The $10,000 project is supported through the Michigan State Waterways Fund, a restricted fund composed mostly from the collection of boat registration fees, state mariine fuel tax and user fees.
