Judge Denies Requests in Bangstad Case

When he appeared in Oneida Circuit Court last week, the owner of Minocqua Brewing Company, Kirk Bangstad had hoped to have a zoning complaint against him dismissed and to have the court stop the county from shutting his business down by revoking his conditional use permit. But, as TheLakelandTimes reports, that was not the case. No only did Judge Michael Bloom rule against Bangstad, saying that the complaint against him was was valid and that he would not grant the injunction against the county, but the day after the ruling, Oneida County revoked his conditional use permit, citing continued violations. Bangstad’s attorney filed a motion for emergency temporary relief in the state appeals court. The The appeals court gave the circuit court a deadline to complete its denial of injunction, and said the county could not revoke Bangstad’s conditional use permit until ordered by the appeals court. So as it stands, Bangstad should not be doing business while waiting for the appeals court decision.
