A grant from the USDA will allow Gogebic Community College to expand to rural classrooms. Dual enrollment options will be added to schools in L’Anse, Dollar Bay and Ontonagon, including virtual learning hubs. The grant encourages a focus on telemedicine,but the hope is do do more in the future. GCC’s Interim Dean of Occupational Programs Karen Ball said they’ll find ways to accommodate CNA, EMT, LPN training as the main focus of the grant but they’ll find ways to also get in some computer science or computer information training along the way. The classes are expected to start in the fall of 2025.
