Manufacturing Classes in Hurley Public Schools Get A Boost

The Hurley School District has received more than $20,000 from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development that has helped the district purchase two manual milling machines and three manual lathes. Technology education and metals teachers Jacob Hostettler says his two classes are very popular among students and the purchase of the new equipment will allow the program to expand and that expansion will bring benefits. Local businesses are more than happy to hire students that have been in the program because they know the likelihood is they’ll stay in the area. The new machines are slated to be installed and ready to use on the first day of school.
