Case of Death Due to Distracted Driver About to Move Forward

A jury trial has been set in the case of a Barnes woman who may have caused a fatal accident because she was looking at her phone. TheDailyPress reports in fall of 2022, Mariah Reindahl ran a stop sign on Highway N and struck a vehicle driven by Reynold Elstad. A passenger, Susan Elstad was killed in the crash. Reindahl is facing charges of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle, reckless driving causing great bodily harm and two counts of reckless driving causing injury. Reynold Elstad and two other passengers in his vehicle were injured. Her trial is scheduled for August 12-15th.
