The first high school chapter of Ducks Unlimited has been formed in the state, and it will be at the Hurley School. TheDailyGlobe reports the Hurley Board of Education approved the formation of the chapter last week after a presentation of the benefits of youth engagement by the regional director of Ducks Unlimited Jesse, Youth Engagement Coordinator Scott McFarren and Hurley High School teacher Corey Chilson. The school will incorporate the mission of conservation of waterfowl and wetlands into its field biology curriculum. The board approved the formation of the chapter and associated costs for the course. Youth Engagement Coordinator McFarren said there is investigation into the possibility of grant funding that could go toward a portion of the costs.
