Abuse Case in Bayfield Will Not Go to Trial

A Bayfield woman is scheduled to enter a plea and will be sentenced after being charged with a laundry list of charges, including false imprisonment and child neglect among others. According to TheDailyPress, Brianne Nicolette, 34, has opted not to go to trial after being charged with abusing a teenage boy. Child Protective Services was contacted by the Bayfield County Sheriff’s office and an investigation begun and during the course of the inquire, a criminial complaint was filed and the boy was removed from her care. Interviews with investigators outlined a pattern of treatment that rose to the level of abuse in a number of categories. She will appear in court on the 9th.
