The Gogebic County Fair Board met earlier this week, and discussed funding and what needs to get done to put on the fair this year. TheDailyGlobe reports the fair is just three months away and former fair coordinator Marlene Saari presented the board with a list of some 50 responsibilities that have to be covered and the board spent time going over it. The list is pretty much the same no matter the size of the event, however this year there will be less revenue from the fair since there won’t be an admission charge or camping fees. Currently, both expenses and expected revenue are each estimated to be around $80,000. The Fair Board is planning a spaghetti dinner on Sunday the 19th to help raise funds. According to board member Linda Nelson, pretty much every thing is already paid for, barring any unforeseen issues.
