Roadwork to Begin in Several Parts of Ontonagon County

Several road projects in the U.P. begin this month. Roughly 20 miles of M-28 from west of M-64 to US-45 in Ontonagon County will be resurfaced. Work starts next Wednesday and should finish by the end of September. The Michigan Department of Transportation is updating traffic signals at the US-2/M-189 intersection in Iron River on Monday, Tuesday, and next Thursday. A culvert on M-28 over Rolston Creek in Ontonagon County will also be replaced. Work starts May 20th and will finish by the end of September. Traffic around Ewen and Bergland can be expected to be affected. The project is expected to provide 138 jobs in the U.P.
