Iron County Board of Supervisors Work to Address Budget

At this past Tuesday’s budget workshop, the Iron County Board of Supervisors worked on Phase 2 of the county’s budget reform. TheDailyGlobe reports rew vice-chairman Kurt Wolff said that even though the 2024 budget was balanced on paper, there is still a budget shortfall of about $1.2 million dollars, due in part to the missed chance at using some ARPA money and Enbridge funds to address budget needs. There was discussion about what board members thought their comfort level with raising taxes would be, and a request from Wolff for input from the rest of the board within the next few weeks.
