Copperwood Mine Project Moves Ahead

The site manager of the Copperwood Project gave an update to the Gogebic County Board of Commissioners at last week’s board meeting. The Daily Globes says the project, which is now fully permitted is expected to bring almost 700 jobs to the area as part of the Highland Copper Mining Company. Site manager Mike Foley called attention to the ways Copperwood is taking care of the environment and is making improvements to infrastructure as well. He also made a point of pointing out the life of the mine and the expected beneficial economic impact on the area because of the project. Foley also thanked everyone locally for their assistance in bringing the project to the area.
