Vilas County to Share in $2 Million in Funding for Forest Projects

The National Forest Service has received $2 million in funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that will fund projects in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, aimed at improving watershed health and increasing infrastructure flood resistance. Projects will be located in Vilas, Florence and Forest counties, with much of the funding going towards the Brule River Headwater Restoration Plan, which includes removal of the dam and road reconstruction.
