Public Works Project in Bessemer Headed for the Goal Line

The City of Bessemer is getting close to wrapping up water and sanitary system work thats been ongoing for the last 3 years. TheDailyGlobe reports the work included replacement of more than 8 miles of water main, 6 miles of sanitary sewer, 1.25 miles of storm sewer and 115 lead impacted service replacements, as well as associated infrastructure improvements, including roads, sidewalk, curb and gutter upgrades. The project will improve fire flow and water pressure in the city and also promises to keep utility rates low.
