Enbridge, along with partner, Lumberjack RC&D has announced that $350,000 in grant funding has been awarded to several projects in Bayfield County through the Eco Footprint Grant program. The AshlandDailyPress reports the Lake Superior Watershed Project, the Mackey Wetland Enhancement Project and the Iron River Community Forest will all receive part of that money. The various projects affect maintenance and study of the watershed and wetlands. The funds will also be used to purchase 860 acres of land to add to the Iron River Community Forest. The additional land will be open for public use.
