It all starts today…fans will be getting their brackets in order, and those lucky enough to score tickets will be attending games to watch their favorite teams compete, and in Iron County, and Amasa (amma-saw) in particular, the Connor Sports Manufacturing Company will be watching their handiwork being put through its paces. The company takes lumber from upper Michigan and northern Wisconsin into gymnasium flooring for the NCAA Basketball Tournament. Connor Sports employs around 125 from nearby Amasa and Iron County. Almost 800 floors are produced yearly, including those for the Men and Women’s 2024 Final four games. The floors are portable, shipped to locations and assembled at each tournament venue. The court for the Men’s Regional in Detroit is expected to be ready to go by the 25th.
