Iron County Working Out Kinks in County Budget

At the most recent meeting of the Iron County Board of Supervisors, the board voted to approve Phase 1 recommendations for the county budget, which includes the fact that despite working to reduce costs the county is facing a $1.25 million deficit. TheDailyGlobe reports part of the deficit is the exclusion by Board Member Kurt Wolff of any speculative income from anticipated carbon credits that although are expected are not defined and not guaranteed. The next step will be to move to Phase 2, during which the board will address the remaining financial shortfall.
