Washburn has selected the location of the city’s proposed bike park. TheDailyPress reports at a public meeting last week at City Hall, cycling fans showed up to express their support and to weigh in on which of the four possible sites for the park was the favorite. A location on Omaha Street was the most popular, so the council voted to move forward with that area in mind. The park has been a pet project of a group of community members, who have been spearheading the idea for the past year. The park would be much like a skate park, with features geared toward cyclists of all kinds and ages. Washburn has a high school bike league, joining that trend that’s being seen in over 30 states in the country.
