Small businesses that have been affected by the lack of snow this winter now have an opportunity to gain assistance from the Small Business Administration and local economic development corporations. According to TheVilasCountyReview, Wisconsin has issued a drought disaster declaration due to the lack of snow. Businesses in Vilas and Oneida counties can file applications to receive funding based on the drought declaration. The funding is in the form of Economic Injury Disaster Loans, intended to help meet ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met due to the disaster. There are three declarations in place with application filing deadlines of May 6th, 13th and 29th. For information on how to apply, go to sba.gov/fudning-programs/disaster-assistance.
