The Michigan State Housing Development Authority has in a third wave of funding awarded $7.4 million in grants to the Michigan Housing Opportunities Promoting Energy Efficiency program, part of which will come to the U.P. The MSHDA provides financial and technical assistance through public and private partnerships to create and preserve affordable housing, engage in community economic development. Several high performing organizations that have previously received MI-HOPE funding have once again been awarded grants, including The Community Action Network, slated to receive $500k, the Western Upper Peninsula Planning Development Region will receive $500k and the Gogebic-Ontonagon Community Action Agency is to receive $200K.
