Phase 2 of Ironwood’s Water Treatment Plant Funded

The Ironwood City Commission has approved a $11.4 million grant which will fully fund phase 2 of the city’s ongoing water treatment plant. TheDailyGlobe reports City Manager Paul Anderson thanked the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy for the grant, saying phase 2 will add water treatment equipment and processes to the new water plant being built. Work on Phase 1 continues, with the weather working in the project’s favor. Phase 1’s $11.6 million dollar price tag is being funded by USDA Rural Development Grants and loans.
