The Higher Learning Commission earlier this week informed the Gogebic Community College Board of Trustees that the college has been granted accreditation through 2034. According to TheDailyGlobe, the college met all the criteria for accreditation during the visit to the campus by the commission’s committee last Fall. The designation allows students to receive federal student aid and insures that they can transfer credits earned at GCC to other institutions. GCC will receive another visit by the commission in 2025 for co-curricular assessment, another more in depth visit in four years and evaluation for recertification in ten years.
