The Wisconsin DNR is advising anyone interested in hunting for the first time this year to register for a hunter safety course. The DNR says classes fill up quickly, so anyone born after January 1, 1973 who needs a hunter education course should book now in order to be able to purchase their hunting license. The only exception is those who are hunting under the Mentored Hunting Law. You can take the traditional course, which involve attending a multi-day course in person or by enrolling in the internet course and then completing a field day. There is also an online only course for those over 18. More information can be found at dnr.wisconsin.gov/education.
