Ashland County will be applying for an Environmental Protection Agency grant to help both the county and municipalities cut their carbon footprint and save money in the process. If the grant, estimated to be somewhere between $10 and 22 million, would allow for the installation of solar microgrids, lease electric vehicles and install a limited number of ev charging stations. The change in power reliance are estimated to be $155,000 annually to local governments and will support a more disaster prepared county system.
