Washburn Will Not Change Snowmobile Policy

Several Washburn residents spoke out against the proposal to allow snowmobiles to operate on city streets during the winter. TheDailyPress reports the city council meeting on Monday was standing room only. Enforcing the rules for snowmobiles on city streets has been a challenge, according to council member Mary McGrath, and expanding their use would only cause more problems. After lengthy discussion, the council elected not to vote on the proposal, meaning the current rules regarding snowmobiles will remain in force.
