When the Washburn City Council meets on Monday, a measure aimed at whether to allow snowmobiles to operate on city streets will be on the agenda. TheAshlandDailyPress reports that up until now, there are designated snowmobile routes in the city, but not every street. City Administrator Scott Kluver said he had discussed the measure with the Chief of Police, who didn’t have strong opinions and said allowing folks to get from their house to the trail when there is a lot of snow or packed snow on the streets is the aim of relaxing the rule.
