Repairs to Trails Finally Complete

Two trails in the western U.P. have reopened after over $10 million in repairs were made after the Father’s Day Flood in 2018. 19News reports both U.P. Trail number 3 at Lake Linden and Trail number 2 in Gogebic County will now be open for public use. The Department of Natural Resources says Trail number 2 hasn’t been groomed yet, as that would interfere with road clearing and snow removal. Funding for the repairs came from numerous sources, including the Michigan Economic Development Corp., the federal American Rescue Plan Act, state ORV funds, federal Land and Water Conservation Fund and snowmobile program money.
