A fire in an apartment above the Deep Water Grille on Main Street West late Tuesday morning has displaced its resident. TheDailyPress reports the smoke alarm system alerted tenants to the fire. Ashland firefighters were able to quickly put out the blaze in a third floor apartment. Fire Chief Stuart Matthias said he thought the fire may have been caused by wiring in the building. There were no injuries reported. Its not known if the resident in the damaged apartment has found another place to stay. It’s unknown whether the fire affected the restaurant below.
