Iron County Deputy in Trouble With Ashland Police

An Iron County Sheriff’s Deputy has been cited by Ashland Police for verbally assaulting Hurley city employees and the mayor over his water bill. Thomas Conhartoski was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct for his outburst in September. The deputy was in full uniform on the day he visited the city of Hurley building and demanded to speak to someone regarding a credit he wanted on his water bill. Conhartoski sits on the Hurley City Council, so he is well acquainted with city procedures and policies. Later in the day, he also exhibited the same type of agitated behavior in a conversation the Mayor of Hurley. A status conference regarding his behavior and citations was held on Monday. There has been no word on the outcome of that conference.
