Starting this Saturday and running every Saturday through the end of February, the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park will host winter activities. According to UPMatters.com, starting at 1pm, there will be a 2 and a half guided snowshoe hike. There will be a limited number of snowshoes available, if you have your own, bring them. Then from 6 to 8 pm you can go for a walk, ski or snowshoe along a lantern-lit trail. Halfway through the trail visitors will find the White Birch Cabin, where they can warm by the fire and have a hot beverage. More information can be found on the Porcupine Mountains Facebook page or at michigan.gov then search the Porkie’s visitor center.
