Snocross Championships Bring Record Number of Entries

Racers of all ages gathered in Ironwood this past weekend to compete in the Amsoil Championship Snowcross races at Mount Zion. Amsoil is the world’s largest snowmobile racing series, with racers coming from all over Michigan and all over the world. According to head TV producer Joe Harewicz, this weekend had the most entries in the history of the Championship. Vice President of Marketing for the race, Miranda Litzau said Ironwood was one of the only places to have snow, and that the work the folks at Mount Zion was incredible. The event was a win for Gogebic Community College, whose Ski Area Management Program benefits from the event. Faculty member Maria Sokol say the number of people that the event brings in brings critical exposure for the school and its programs.
