A survey is being circulated by some Ashland residents to determine if there’s enough interest in building a city pool. TheDailyPress reports Ashland High School graduate and County Board member Blake Ellefson was distressed to find that residents have to drive to Bayfield to go swimming in a pool. He joined the Ashland Aquatics Association and started to dig into how to remedy the situation. He and the Northland College Center for Rural Communites have launched a survey to see if folks would support building a pool. Assistant Professor Garret Zastoupil lent a hand by making the survey a part of his economics curriculum and has students passing out the survey and tabulating results. So far more than 1400 people have taken the survey. The survey will remain open through next Friday. For more information, contact Blake Ellefson at blakeellefson@yahoo.com.
