New Emergency Equipment Has Arrived in the County

The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office earlier in the year applied for and recently received a couple of community service grants which were used to expand the number of automated external defibrillators or AEDs available to patrol officers in the field. Grants from the TC Energy Build Strong program and the Gogebic Range Health Foundation provided for the two new pieces of life-saving equipment, which will be available in case of cardiac emergencies in the community. Survival rates of a cardiac event with CPR and the use of a defibrillator can be as high as 74%.
